Terms, Safety, and Service Disclaimers

Welcome to Columbia Gorge Cupid. By submitting an intake application or participating in our private matchmaking registry (collectively, the "Service"), you explicitly acknowledge and agree to the following Terms, Safety Guidelines, and Service Disclaimers. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not apply to our registry.
 

1. Nature of the Service & Eligibility

Columbia Gorge Cupid operates a private, boutique matchmaking registry tailored to mature singles.

  • No Guarantees: Completion of the compatibility intake questionnaire and the initial 15-minute video connection call does not guarantee acceptance into the active matching pool, that matches will be found, that introductions will be made, or that any introduction will result in a relationship.

  • Discretion of Service: Because entry into the introductory registry tier is free, all matches and registry acceptances are made entirely at our sole discretion based on compatibility metrics, community alignment, and pool availability. Matchmaking is highly dependent on the evolving volume and demographics of our participants. We reserve the right to determine or terminate eligibility for our registry at any time to protect the quality, integrity, and safety of our community.
     

2. Independent Verification & Background Screening

Your safety is deeply important to us, but you must exercise your own personal judgment.

  • Preliminary Screening Only: While we meet with each applicant via a video consultation, we do not perform criminal background checks, financial audits, or behavioral verification on registry members.

  • Assumption of Risk: You acknowledge that individuals are capable of misrepresenting themselves. Columbia Gorge Cupid is not liable for any false statements, omissions, or misrepresentations made by other participants.
     

3. Personal Safety Responsibility

You are solely and completely responsible for your own safety and well-being when interacting with or meeting any match introduced through our Service. We strongly advise all participants to take standard, rigorous safety precautions before, during, and after determining to meet a match in person.
 

Mandatory Safety Protocols Include:

  • Verifying your match's identity independently before meeting.

  • Always meeting in a highly populated, public place for at least the first several dates.

  • Providing your own transportation to and from the date (never allowing a match to pick you up at your home).

  • Telling a trusted friend or family member exactly where you are going, who you are meeting, and what time you expect to return.

  • Keeping your personal financial data, home address, and sensitive workplace details private until a deep level of real-world trust has been established.
     

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Columbia Gorge Cupid, its founders, practitioners, and affiliates from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or injuries (emotional, physical, financial, or otherwise) arising out of or resulting from your use of this website, participation in the registry, communications with other members, or dates arranged through this Service.
 

5. No Clinical or Professional Psychological Services

Participants explicitly acknowledge that Columbia Gorge Cupid is a boutique community matching registry focused on lifestyle compatibility.

  • Not Therapy: We are not licensed psychologists, clinical relationship counselors, therapists, or certified behavioral health experts.

  • No Professional Advice: Any insights, compatibility feedback, or suggestions provided during the intake process, connection call, or subsequent introductions do not constitute professional psychological advice, therapy, or relationship counseling. This Service is strictly a curated social introduction tool. Participants are encouraged to seek independent, licensed professional guidance for any clinical behavioral or relationship counseling needs.
     

6. Privacy & AI Data-Analysis Disclosure

We respect the highly sensitive nature of the information you share with us.

  • Data Security: Your data is private, strictly confidential, and will never be browsable by the public or sold to third parties.

  • Technology & Human Review: We may use artificial intelligence (AI) data-analysis tools to assist in the initial sorting, parsing, and preliminary compatibility scanning of candidate profiles to find strong baseline alignments. However, we guarantee that every single match is personally reviewed, vetted, and finalized by a human matchmaker before any profiles are exchanged or introductions are made.
